Finchley Choral Society is a North London choir, founded over a hundred years ago to give local people the opportunity to study, practise and perform choral singing. Today we are a firmly established part of the musical life of singing in North London. Over the years we have studied and performed a large part of the choral repertoire including both great classical works and more modern pieces, some specially commissioned for this choir.
The members, currently numbering 72, rehearse on Monday evenings in a local school and perform in public four times a year. Our concerts are generally held in churches in the London Borough of Barnet but we also sing in venues such as St John’s, Smith Square, Westminster. At least once a year we perform with a full orchestra and we generally sing with professional soloists. We aim for high standards and usually attract large audiences.
If you enjoy singing, have a reasonable voice and like a musical challenge why not come along and join us. Previous experience of choral singing is not necessary for membership. You will find our choir friendly and welcoming and our rehearsals and performances both inspiring and enjoyable.
Finchley Choral Society is based in West Finchley, London Borough of Barnet, North London, is a registered charity No 265563 and is affiliated to Making Music, the National Federation of Music Societies
